Youth Academy

The HCCRA Youth Academy is an educational outreach initiative aimed at introducing young people to:

 

• Retriever training

• Waterfowl hunting etiquette and techniques

• Conservation practices

• Outdoor ethics and skills

 

Our goal is to pass on traditional hunting skills and values to the next generation, helping kids develop responsibility, respect for wildlife, and an appreciation for the role hunters play in conservation.

 

Through structured activities, participants learn about hunting and conservation concepts from experienced HCCRA members and professional guides in:

 

• Firearm safety

• Dog handling 

• Habitat importance

• Ethical hunting practices

• Fire starting

• Waterfowl processing (cleaning, preparation, cooking)

 

The program emphasizes positive, supportive experiences that build confidence and encourage lifelong involvement in retriever sports and field activities.​
